Default Proper way to promote items to avoid being penalized in Google

Hi all,

I recently created an affiliate marketing website. I was ranked decently well at first but then my site began to drop and was no longer found in previous searches. I asked the people on the Google forums and they indicated that the reason for it was because I did not put enough effort into unique content and that most of it was duplicate information provided on other sites. I didn't realize that was an issue so my original thought was to make various pages with the products i'm promoting along with the descriptions provided on the site that i'm promoting for. I then planned to add the useful content after.

Anyways, my plan is to now fix up my site so that I am adding unique content. My question is what is the best way to write a unique user friendly post while preserving the keywords that you researched? Is it good enough to just to include the keyword(s) in the article/post that you write? Should the keyword be in the title as well?

Keywords in the title ....good idea...

But....all the content must have a natural flow....
Write for humans and not search engines....

I run a blog which I would estimate is about 90% high quality free content and the rest affiliate reviews. One thing that bugs me is when affiliate marketers just copy and paste bits and pieces of content from the sales page and maybe add a short sentence or two to lead into their own affiliate link. Affiliate marketing gets a bad name from this practice.

A good product recommendation should be real review. The product should be purchased, tested and then written about honestly, describing pluses and minuses, in the form of a thorough report. Using screen shots of your own findings also helps. Video is also useful in reviews, but not a sales video from the sales page!

Title in the keyword is important. I agree with the response, write for quality. Google can tell if your article is quality or not and one of the ways it does this is by how many words are in the article. More words equals more of an effort in Google's eyes. More of an effort means higher quality most times. Just what I've heard.
