PhP is not hard to learn. You must only have the courage, the patience and right attitude to study it in order to master it. There are lots of codes of it on internet and as a learner we just only look for it and we just know how to use it. Just have patience to study and it will result to a better one.. Hope it helps..

If you have some basic knowledge of programming in any language C, C++ etc than PHP is not hard for you, as you know basic HTML. But before start learning PHP you must have good knowledge about basic programming concepts, then you can learn PHP easily.

According to my opinion, PHP is the Easy language to learn. It will take around 2 months to learn it. However, to master the subject it will take more time.

PHP is one of the easiest languages to learn out there, it also helps you can find examples to do just about anything you want via googling. Since you have some programming experience I think you'll be able to pick php up within 3-4 weeks. Just google how do I do this or that in PHP, look of great code out there as well as tuts. To test apache+mysql+php on a home machine I recommend xampp.
