Smile How to import/export ready databases in Cpanel 11?

Hello guys! The situation is the following - I have some databases on local host and now I am going to upload website to hosting! My friend provided me with some place on his hosting account and now I am going to test a website! Could you please explain how should I act with my ready databases if I have Cpanel 11 installed? I don't wish to rewrite them again and just would like to move them from local host to hosting!

Well if they are on a local host, do you mean on your actual computer or do you mean they are on another server. Either way,you should be able to download a copy of the database to your computer and then upload it to your new host using the same database name and create a database user for the database with MySql on the new cPanel account. did that make any sense?

Yes, like flaco said this should be pretty simple.

with cpanel you should have access to phpmyadmin which will make it extremely simple.

take a backup of the database as it is now, then go to your new cpanel

Just create the DB and user in cpanel, then go to phpmyadmin and click on the db you just created. You should then see links at the top of the screen, click on "import" browse your harddrive for the backup you just made and click "go" that should populate the new db you just made with all the info from the db on the localhost.

Please be sure to read the forum rules

there's a simple step:
1. drag and drop your web folder from local host to the directory public html in your web host
2. export your localhost database (sql) from your local phpmyadmin
3. import your database that you export from localhost to your webhost through cpanel --> mysql database
4. edit your configuration file (usually named config.php / wp-config if you use wordpress) change username, password or host with your webhost configuration (before was your localhost configuration)
5. done

if you found difficulty you can browse youtube video tutorial, I think plenty of source there.
