Default Domain Name Hunting.....

So, I have begun to consider domain names for an online business and/or blog. So, how would I determine if a particular keyword ranks higher than another. For example would the term winner rank higher with google and other search engines than champion? How would I determine this? Thanks!

I'm not sure I have understood the question correctly, but if you are trying to find out which domain name has more competition and will therefore be easier to get a high ranking for, you should probably look at the keyword tool on Google.

Of course it will depend on the key terms you are expecting people to search for, not just the URL. So have a look at competitors for the chosen key terms and consider why they are ranked highly.

Hope I haven't misunderstood, but if I have feel free to repost with more information.

You understood it. Thank you for the very useful information. I never knew about the Google Adword tool and that's really cool. Thanks again!

You should try to have a domain name that has to do with what your product or service you are promoting. Such as if you were going to sell fishing products you could come up with something like kylesfishingblog or you might consider using your own name. You need a name that is easy for people to remember.
Hope this helps

Congratulations. I was going to add two sources to find good names; Sedo, and Namejet. These are aftermarket places where you can usually find the best names.

Sedo is very costly place, if you are going to buy a domain name from Sedo then you have to pay in thousands normally.

However, it is a good place for selling domain name as you would get good money from the sales.
