I have been trying to decide between blogger and wordpress

which is better between the two?

I am using blogger at the moment but wordpress is the better choice. It looks "cleaner" plus their is a lot more functionality with it with their plusgins. You can keep it as a blog or build a website with it.

blogger is (probably) more seo friendly, but wordpress is the user friendly one. But my advice is to go for your own website. With less than $15/year you can have your own website on a .com domain witch is 10x times more versatile than a blogger or wordrepss site. You can easily install Wordrepss CMS on it, a free theme and there you go. In addition you can better monetize your own website. Good luck

I agree with some of the comments on this thread. Blogger is more SEO-friendly compared to Wordpress. The latter seems to observe stricter rules when it comes to SEO. Although Wordpress is a lot more user-friendly and has lots of plugins.

For SEO purpose WordPress is quite better, however, I have observed that the blogger gets easily on Google. Blogger will get indexed and ranked in Google quickly than WordPress. At least, I have seen it in my case.

Blogger is a blogging service is good when you are looking for a simple blog, and WordPress platform is amazing open source, when you are opting for professional blogging, wordpress plugins allowing you to modify and extend a business blog, or planning to earn from your blog.
