Avoid/minimize images in your email as it only leads to wastage of space since most users do not view it
If users aren't responding, develop a new strategy instead of constantly sending emails resulting in spamming
Develop a title that arouses curiosity
Design the email in such a way that the mobile users are able to view them

This is one of those email myths I wish people would stop spreading around... FREE is not a bad word - it's used all the time by companies like Amazon, Target, Costco, LL Bean, BestBuy... the list goes on and on.

Most spam filters are smarter than flagging email for the use of words like Free, Save, Discount...

Agreed. Sender reputation is the most important thing. Should you avoid certain words in your email, sure, why not? There are some filters out there...but it should be the last concern on your list.

Any idea how often you should send your emailers out? Assume you have fairly a lot to say but you obviously don't want to say it at once. What's the ideal frequency?

Hi Charlie,

Check out this post from Dr. Dave Chaffey on this topic:
What is the best frequency for email marketing? - Smart Insights Digital Marketing Advice

Of course, smartphones are completely changing this -- more sends of shorter messages timed to hit people at just the right moment to be relevant based on what they are doing at that time.

BTW I will be doing a free webinar with Dr. Chaffey on list building next week. Details here.

Regards,
jim

Most importantly get to know your subscriber. Treat them as you'd treat your friends. Then he will consider buying from you.
