Question High unopened rate due to email landing in junk - will new domain help?

Hi all

My company once did a bit of a bad thing with email marketing and sent loadsa email to a list that was not bought or collected by themselves. As a result, they got complaints, and I think that's why a lot of email now (which is legal, and is sent from an in-house optin list) is going straight to people's junk.

Will purchasing a new domain name, and sending from this domain name instead, help the issue? Or at least allow us to have a clean slate so to speak?

Are there also better ways to help our email 'rep'?

Thanks!
Emma

Hi Emma

There are a number of factors that can contribute to your messages going to the junk folder. Reputation is a large one, especially when you have had spam complaints. Template design and construction, content and subject line all play their part.

If you really want to send everything in-house, please make sure you are not using your transactional domain for your marketing, and that your lists are of good quality. You must also make sure your template is of good build - its not just the same as a webpage!

Using a specialist for email marketing can save a lot of time and money - you can still do everything yourself but you use an ESP (Email Service Provider) who manages their servers and email reputation of all their customers - and help with templates to make sure you get in the inbox and improve your open rate/click throughs.

There are many ESPs out there - many very good and well priced. We at FrogEmail have over 100 html email templates already in our system for you to customise or we can create a bespoke one for you (unless you have the knowledge in which case you can upload your own template).

If you would like to discuss our email marketing services further, or would just like some general advice - feel free to contact me.

Kind regards

Paul

It will be the ip address of the machine that would be blacklisted, so they would have to get a new server somewhere else, as well as a new domain name!

Please read the Rules

Hi Emma,

pfinney and dave are right, but the main solution would be to get email hosted services. with which you won't facing the problem of email going in spam.

We can help you with the services and can give you the best quote which you won't be able to get with any company.

Please let me know if interested
