Two different areas......
Visibility can be improved by promoting the site.....

Content can have value by answering a "need" for users.....

I agree with Jim.

To gain visibility you need to market your site. You can do straight SEO, but that takes a great deal of time. There are so many ways to market that I won't go into them here. If you want to learn more about marketing any type of product or service, I would suggest that you look at the free marketing training below.

At for Content. If you create informative content that fills your reader needs then they will keep coming back to your site to see what is new. Do your keyword research so people will be able to find you and send your article out to the article sites, etc.

Hope this helps.

To improve the instructiveness of a website you must offer solutions to the main problems that people have in your niche...

To improve the visibilty of your site, there are many different strategies. Bookmarking, social media marketing, article marketing etc... I suggest you have a look through other posts in the forum to give you some ideas on one or two you would like to try, and take it from there.

I have one very good tip never publish until you have all tweaks done, you want to look professional at first site. I started the wrong way in the beginning, so do not make same mistake. Also apply good reading and information, there is all kinds of free ways to get articles just rewrite them in your own words, they are meant for ideas, not publishing exact as written. This is always a good start for content.

The perfect marketing is great content. Write great content and the rest will take care of itself as long as you're doing the basic SEO practices for your website.

SEO is nothing but understanding competition and algorithm of search engines, once you understand, it would become easy, yes, of course, content plays very important role here.

If you are going to undertake an SEO campaign on your website then before you complete any 'off page' work, I would reccommend making sure the site itself is ready.

Some of the suggestions above are a big part of this. Specifically, relevant content, keyword use and meta information are a starting point.

Optimisation of images, order of the code, type of code and quality (i think) are also important.

Hope this is useful.

One thing to note, do not over optimize the page. Yes the H1 tags are there, images are there etc. But after the optimizing, step back and look at the site, it probably looks like a mess. Remember visitor's readability is very important. Google takes bounce rates into account when ranking a site.

You have to make the site search engine friendly, using the right keywords in the right places, the correct number of times (not too much). However, this must not be done at the expense of the readability and general look of the site for visitors.

It has to look natural, not crammed with keywords or set up solely for the benefit of Googlebot, or packed with irrelevant backlinks, they have to be quality ones that are linked as closely as possible to your product or service.
