Both do follow and no follow links are better than just one or the other. Some people avoid no follow links as they feel they have less value. Google prefer to see both as this makes it appear more natural.
Regarding High page rank. Don't worry at all about your PR, aim to get targeted traffic to your blog or website instead. If you succeed in gaining traffic then you will probably increase your page rank as a result anyway.
