The top press release websites, which are usually the pay ones, can often get Tweeted, liked, and shared by journalists if the content is good enough, even if they don't actually use your press release. This is uaually only the case with PR sites like journalism.co.uk and prweb.com as most journalists don't bother with the free sites anyway.
