Does Yahoo own the copyright, does the author own the copyright?

They don't have a copyright notice attached at the bottom or anything - are they in the "public domain" and somehow free of copyright?

I would like to reproduce some messages on my website.
I need to know what is the copyright status of messages posted to a Yahoo group?

I would take a close look at their terms and conditions when you sign up to yahoo, it might tell you in there

No - just because a piece of text has no copyright notice does not place it in the public domain.
