I think Java script is more suitable with a HTML. It's use for a validation in your site. so that you site can be validate from the user. It plays an important role in web designing.

PHP is more suitable for server-side interaction, which is very useful form and so on. In addition, you need to have installed on your computer, PHP, then you can use it in the HTML page.

You use HTML to give the website its basic structure. Then you use CSS to design it. You can use Javascript to create some cool features but definitely not to validate anything.

PHP is super easy to learn and it's been around so long that people have been posting scripts on forums and stackoverflow.com for years!

I always use CSS with my HTML to assist with design and sometime add some java for some more interesting design elements, although I try to keep it to a minimum.

I would suggest getting to grips with CSS first though!
