Controls Web robots on a per-page basis. E.g.

<META NAME="ROBOTS" CONTENT="NOINDEX,FOLLOW">

Robots may traverse this page but not index it.

This meta tags is very important with your site content if you want to no show your content in search engine then use CONTENT="NOINDEX"

WHat do you need to know about Meta Tags? They are written into the code of an html document and can include information such as a site description and keywords useful for the search engines, but are only helpful when implemented with a well prepared and managed seo strategy.

For WordPress users out there, you can easily edit your Meta Robots Tag using a plugin. You can also use SEO Ultimate so you can put noindex, nofollow tags in pages and posts..

The no index, no follow tags are usually listened to, but not always, Google usually respects them but Yahoo and Bing not always, this is not 100% safe to hide your content.
