Default SMS Marketing Rules

Hi all,

wonder if you can help. I have posted sms here in email as i know the rules are similar.

I am setting up a free to use classifieds website similar to gumtree. Now a site like this needs traffic (items listed) to get traffic (buyers for the goods and more listings), its hard to have an empty bunch of classifieds and expect people to use it (i wouldnt). Now what i have been setting myself up to do is sms poaching. Simply inviting people advertising an item on another site to also advertise on my site. Just to get my site full so that my next marketing campaigns are bringing people to a place at least with things worth veiwing.

I understand the rules that this is naughty as they havn't opted in, but is there a way with the correct wording or perhaps a loophole of some sort that it could be done legally.

I know alot hate sms marketing, but if you were selling an item and were simply asked to perhaps try on another site I would like to think that this isnt an offensive thing to do. Nw i know i'm aloud to sms trades, is there any way that sellers of personnel items could be loosly seen as traders.

I know this is a horrible subject that will get a few backs up but really any advice is appreciated.

For SMS marketing, I would still recommend to do it as opt-in. Otherwise all that will happen is your message is sent and it gets deleted before the person even reads it if they don't even end up thinking that there is something wrong with their phone (i.e it's been infected with malware).

Its always better to send bulk campaigns irrespective of the medium, whether its email or sms to only opt-in contacts. As this will reduce the risk of being penalized.

Well, SMS marketing rules are completely differ from mass marketing model. Although, this marketing is that it's mainly the quasi-moment to achieve the ultimate user a lower cost. VoIP technology gratitude. Thus, writing on the wall or the banner is considered to be thing of the past.

You should implement opt-in process in your mobile (sms) marketing. I would recommend you to read the article about Mobile Marketing — What To Do And How to Do It. This article will help you and give you the ideas on how to do it properly. Take a look.

Hello,
Here are few tips that I found online. Do check it out.
As a quick introduction to text message marketing here are 10 simple guidelines, all short enough to be a text message (160 characters).

-Every text message will be opened and read by the recipient.
-Work smarter not harder. 3 or 4 messages a month is more than enough to engage your customers.
-You can collect consumer information like email and zipcode through text. Cheaper, faster and more accurate than paper signups at live events.
-SMS is a totaly no-spam medium. Sorry, cant buy lists. Good news is that every1 ur messaging wants to hear from you. Bad news is that you cant b boring or lazy.
-Your BIG DemoGraphics ttly get it! U bettr learn it SOON.
-You can reach people when they are actually making purchase decisions (without their TV or computers). How? Text the word FISH and THE NAME OF A FISH to 30644.
-Integrate with your existing CRM.
-Secure financial transsactions with 1 text message. Amount donated/purchased is added to the user’s mobile phone bill.
-It takes one push of a button to turn and SMS into a phone call, and everything is trackable.
Imagine a list that reads every message, wants to hear from you and takes action on what you say. Conversions range from 15-80%.
