Need advice on email system
Hi All,
I am launching soon a new website using DotNetNuke, and I need to decide which email solution to use. I would highly appreciate your advice.
This are my requiremenets:
We want to have 2 kinds of sign-ins in the website: 1) visitors who just leave their email to get a newsletter 2)Visitors who complete the full registration (email, username and password) to become full members of the website (they use the username and password to login to the website).
In both kinds of sign ins, we would like the visitor to get an autoresponder email with a verification link for double opt in. BUT we want to keep the lists of both those who double opt in, and those who didn't. So eventually we want to have 4 lists of users:
Newsletters users - single opt in
Newsletter users - double opt in
Full registration users - single opt in
Full registration users - doubel opt in
The reason we still want to have the single opt in emails is that we might still want to email this people.
We obviously want these 4 lists to be managed and updated in our database. We don't mind that it would also appear in the email provider we work with
My question:
What's the best solution? Should I manage the whole emailing system from my website, or should I use an external email provider? If the answer is use my own emailing system, how do I build something like that for a website built with DotNetNuke? If the answer is using an external email provider, which do you recommend and how do I do such complicated integration?
Thanks,
David
