I am new at this forum and this is my first post here.
I have been looking around marketing strategies and reading about Johnchow techniques.

You all guys sum up in the power of email marketing as a way to gain big quantities of money.
What you never explain exactly is how

I have a website, i dont sell anything and from now on i was gaining money with google adsense and a couple of direct banner sells.

I mean, i have my own list of 4.700 mails. I am planning to make my own autoresponder to send certain mails to make the relationship form the start and all that stuff.

But question is. How can i make money with it now?
Recommending products of someone?

And the most difficult question: How can i persuade my potential advertisers about the power of a mailing list?

And i ask this, because until today, no one of the advertisers on my site have asked me for email promotions but everyone did it for banners, links or similar stuff.

Hey IMAC,

I dont exactly understand what it is you are trying to achieve. So you want to make money doing email promotions but you dont sell anything on your website so if you drove traffic to your website how would that benefit from an email campaign benefit you other then just new viewers for your website?>

Please explain a little more, I work in the emailing business and would be happy to any any questions you have or even email for you.

Hey David,

I really dont know how email marketing try to gain money from it as it is so difficult to read it anywhere.

I only know some examples, like Johwnchow blog and other few and as far as i have seen, they earn money promoting other people products related with their own niche.

My question is:
Why would an advertiser prefer mailing list vs banner ads?

Yeah i know... it is suppose to be more efficient and direct but... what if the advertiser dont know it? How can i persuade them of it?
In my niche i doubt anyone give more importance to a mail than to a banner on the top of the website.

What is your niche if you dont mind saying?

And depending on your business email marketing is going to be more effective then just a banner ad in some cases but not always.

Example: Say you pay $500 for a banner ad for a month on a website. Say the website receives about half a million visits per month. Out of the 500k how many are going to actually click it or even truly see it? I could email to 500k people for $500 for any one and with in that email not only is it more personal because you are sending it directly to them and I could also personalize the email and make it say their first name anywhere in the email. The point is if they open your email their full attention is on it versus if they are on a website and there is a banner on the side or up top.

Dont get me wrong banners are effective for certain company and do work well especially if posted on the right website. For example my company has banner ads on several email list websites because if you are buying a list odds are you want to do some emailing.

The niche is fireworks and firecrackers.

I am not sure whats the normal price for adverts or for sending an email to subscribers.

I have 4.700 mails and, at will have at this moth around 68,849 different visitors and like 1,2 millions of pages loaded.

I am selling a top horizontal skycraper for around 200$. And lateral squares of 125x125 for 100$.
I told them that an email to all subscribers should be 40$.

I dont know if the prices are correct or not and as far as i have seen, they dont pay attention to email, just to banners.
Maybe its also because here at Spain mailing marketing is not so common and very few people know it.

Yea if you send out an email to your subscribers it wont cost you much since you dont have a large amount.
