Default Email Marketing is not spam!

I've heard it from several other business owners and web entrepreneurs, but they're wrong. Email marketing is not spam!

There are right and wrong ways to use email marketing, and doing it too often is what annoys customers and drives them away. Emailing subscribers a few times a week can be enjoyable, especially when the emails are worth their time.

I blog about email marketing here: <Removed link> but even so, I want to know if people really do think it's all just spam.

<Mod note....links in sig only>

Provided that the optin method is used.......

Random and scraped (harvested) emails can only be spam...

Unfortunately, we live in a world where people scream "spam" over any email that's not sent directly from their mother. And half the time, they even scream "spam" then. I've seen Spam complaints from people who literally had to ask me personally to sign them up for a specific mailing list. I'm talking about people who had to pick up a cell phone and CALL ME to ask for their email to be added, and who then later reported the email as Spam.

I agree I am an Email marketing expert for my company and run campaigns for tons of users. When you have a targeted list that has opt-in to find out more about a certain genre its not spam to send them info on it.

It ridiculous how people dont educate themselves about it when they have probably opt-in to something them selves.

Spam is unsolicited bulk commercial email.

Or, it used to mean that.

Now it means, anything somebody doesn't like.

It's one of those words the general culture has hijacked and pummeled in to utter meaningless. These things happen.

People who don't understand email marketing mark anything that they dont like or want as spam regardless of if they opt-in in for it before or not.
