Hi all,

I am looking for companies that specialise in Email Validation, we are a third party database marketing company which has a number of suppliers who provide us with data, the issue is untill we broadcas to those email addresses there is no way if finding out which ones will Hard Bounce or be invalid.

I have found one company out there which offers the service, and they can report if the email is active or not for 80-90% of emails, but i need to do a comparisson. Does anyone have a company to recomend? we are bassed in London.

If you google "email validation" you'll get a ton of companies that offer that service. Most of them have a free script where you can try a few email addresses and see the performance.

There are lots of scripts out there to do it yourself: php-smtp-email-validation - PHP SMTP Email Validation - Google Project Hosting Be careful that you don't run these for a lot of addresses from your own domain as the fails will affect your reputation just as if you had tried to send a bounced address.

Consensics will do email verification for free and they have a "community score" for emails. The more people that use the service the more accurate it should become. The service is free while they're in beta, so if you have large list try contacting them.

Our company is based in the UAE and is operating for over 10 years now. However, we have not used any automated or web-based email marketing software ever apart from a software we used called MailBomber which was at first helpful as we are only using 1-image artworks to send. Thereafter, it was very difficult for us to use it because there is no way we can filter the email addresses; nothing automated about it. We have tried a couple of email marketing softwares but at the end, it did not accept our upgrade because our database was not clean and it was a combination of third party email addresses and ones we got from our car rental system. Prior to confirming any software, is there any way first we can automatically filter our database. Thank you.

MiraMax Media - Email Answers is actually an ESP that offers a list cleaning and validation service that has proven to be 95% accurate. Here are the steps we go through after first removing duplicate email addresses to ensure our process is as thorough as possible:

1. Keyword Scrub – We remove words like spam, junk, abuse, etc. from the list of emails.
2. Bounce File Compare – We have a list of 19.2 million bounces and we remove these emails from the list when we run a compare. This includes emails which have sent a challenge response or requested removal.
3. Complainers File – We compare our complainers file to the list of emails and remove any matches. We also remove emails if they are a member of Spamcop. We have about 75% of the Spamcop database.
4. Domains – We run a compare and remove any spam seed, BOT, black list or bogus emails/domains from the list of email address domains. The list we own and maintain is about 156,000+ domains.
5. Validate emails – Our proprietary verification software/system validates each email address in your database, to see if it is an address that can accept email. This is done through multiple servers with enhanced white listings in place with all major ISP’s. We connect to the email addresses mail server, as part of our validation process, but NEVER send an email to the recipient.
