Depending what niche its in... if you did your keyword research correctly and checked the competition sometimes you can submit it to article directories and it will be on the first page. But otherwise build backlinks to it..

You have to research the keyword first, if that keyword is not ranked then create article for that keyword and submit to only top article directories I'm sure you would get success.

You can also search for some article writing software,it is easy to write an article,you just have to do some keyword research and rest is easy.

Submit your article with minimum two different keywords and add author bio comprising one or two keywords, in the top article sites, like ezinearticles.com, goarticles.com, articlesbase.com, ideamarketers.com and knol.google.com. I'm sure you can get better results within one or two months if you submit unique articles.

The best way to do that is first perform a Google search to check out the top article directories which pop up. Then, choose a popular niche to write about. Once you’ve done that submit it to a few of the popular article directories and then all you need to do is wait.

That's such a broad question. My advice would be:

Try to make the title in a way that will solve a users problems
Make certain the 100% original
Create other articles that reference the article in question with text-based anchors
Take advantage of Web 2.0 websites as they are high ranking

I can't think of another better way than to build quality links around the article using forum posts, blog comments, edu gov links, etc

Kavin All of the suggestion above are great. I have most of my articles on page one ranking for the title, and it is no secret to how I did it. Create your own blog and submit an new blog post/ article every day.

Create orginal Content, that is not over stuffed with the keyword phrase, and write it for the person that will read it, and not for the search engines.
